^ Does the person described in these remarks remind you of anyone in sociology?
Why is "woke" culture so unpopular in France?
-
This question and the quora responses are completely ignorant. Spend any time consuming French media and you will quickly see that they openly discuss gender and race like sociologists in the US do. They are having similar debates among academics about whether this is acceptable. It is wrong to claim that the French reject these discourses out of hand.

So, all of those white people who use the words "rock" and "rock and roll" are unbalanced?
As are all of the white guys who call each other "brother?"
No well-balanced adult pays any attention to blk slang. Using it is equivalent to soccer moms emulating middle school speech patterns.

"Slang" are words used outside of their traditional context.
If the origin of the word precludes it from being slang then there can't be any slang, especially any African-American slang.
Keep going in circles, if you want.

You can't be serious in thinking that I said that.
What I am serious about is the history of a certain prison organization, full of white people.
I'm also serious about "rock and roll," which you ignored.
And, I'm serious about how you keep trying to obfuscate what counts as white people using black slang.
You're still going in circles.

They've always been better thinkers than American sheep that fill universities
sheep=karens
"Karens" is kind of corny. Black people in America still call white women "Beckys".Well the rest of us have appropriated 'Karen' to mean annoying, scolds liberal woman, defined by the catchphrase 'I'd like to speak the manager'. It's colorblind now. In fact, blacks womxn are some of the biggest Karens, like K-Hive or NHJ.

Back to OP:
1. French actresses including Denevue ridiculed MeToo back in the day: "we *want* men to hit on us!!"
2. French have better taste, much of this woke stuff is just plain repulsive aesthetically.
3. French intelligentsia is the healthiest in the western world now, like maybe America was in the 80s. They tolerate and even celebrate a guy like Houellebecq as being the descendent of a long line of curmudgeons from Rabelais to Celine, there is no way any other western country would.
-
Watching and reading French news:
1. They regularly discuss feminism and the lack of progress on equality. Some even go as far as discussing the need for quotas.
2. There is more discussion of African migrants and open derision of FN for extreme views. The FN is an older whiter party, much like the anti woke people here. People are increasingly questioning the lack of official measurement of race in France.
3. French academia is not much healthier than the US. Their jobs do not pay well, and while some academics are well known, work are not. They also have a much more old fashioned hierarchy where your advisor has a lot more influence on your successes or failures.
4. Amazing. Some actresses and powerful people dispute these discourses in France. They do in the US too. So why can't we ask why the US isn't rejecting woke culture? The govt hasnt added a million subcategories for race yet. It's still illegal to ask about race or gender when hiring. They are anti woke heroes!
I get the impression that most commenter here do not consume French media themselves.

1. Yes, France has a strong economic-left tradition. Policing the romance between men and women is just aesthetically repulsive, almost every liberal/left french hero would have denounced it. It reeks of Anglo puritanism intruding on French liberte.2. That's sad to know. Yes I haven't consumed French media recently, but if they give up race blindness the right will exploit the heII out of that road paved with good intentions.
3. I'm talking about intellectual climate, not economic conditions. There is much wider variety of discourse, there are outright communists, white supremacists, rabid pro/anti-feminists all with mainstream presence. U
To summarise, France is a proud culture, they are intrinsically suspicious(maybe insecure too?) of importing American fashions.

You actually believe no wht man ever called another brother until the blx came up with the idea? Surely you can?t be serious? The term rock and roll does not originate with blx any more than calling people brother does. Both of your examples fail. Try again.
