Who is worse?
Who's worse -- the Socialists or the Libertarians?
-
The libertarians. At least the socialists are consistent.
The history of libertarians in the U.S. is that of a movement fighting for the liberty of straight, white, men.wait, stop the presses, anyone who wants to leave others alone and be left alone by others is just a raexist.
Yet again, you've shown us that raexism really is the answer to anything you don't like. Just get out your big marker and put an R on the forehead of every libertarian I guess. Same as you do for everything else. Nice work.

One is hard-pressed to identify the side that is more idealistically, will-fully oblivious to the downsides/impracticalities of their desired political-economic system. But I'll give the edge to socialists--you can at least have an interesting conversation with them.
Also, if you think Kentucky/Denmark is a reasonable dichotomization of these concepts, you need to review the basics from politic sci 101.

Why don't you even pretend to read? Or, argue?
If you've got evidence against my point I'd be happy to see it.

Dunno. You wanna live in Denmark or Kentucky?
Said by the danish, Denmark is NOT a socialist country.Ok, do you want to live in the country that most closely approximates socialism today (Denmark) or Kentucky?
If you just say Denmark is a welfare state, sure. So do you want to live in a welfare state or Kentucky?
-
i missed placed the concepts. ope seems to belive that socialist="zero market", libertarian="total market".
apparently, op's conceptualization does not even go beyond basic propanganda message. "socialism=abolishing private market"? said by whom? tucker carlson? jordan peterson? ben shapiro? alex jones?
op is probably an eco undergrat, trying compare two extreme systems, as socialists stand for "total market", and liberarian stands "zero market".
basically, it's "rule of the jungle" vs "central government planning". -

If you just say Denmark is a welfare state, sure. So do you want to live in a welfare state or Kentucky?Denmark is NOT the country that most closely approximates socialism today. Try Venezuela, Cuba, or North Korea. Not exactly socialists, but way closer to socialism than Denmark.
Also, Kentucky is not even close to a libertarian state (sic). The closest there is, and is still way far from the libertarian utopia, is the Netherlands. So: do you want to live in the Netherlands or in Venezuela?

Indeed, Mises once called Hayek a “socialist” and Democrats were quoting Hayek arguing IN favour of Obama Care back when that was being passed.
If libertarian is to you the ideas of Locke and Hayek, Switzerland, Singapore, and HK (5 years ago...) are probably the closest real world examples.

Still, probably more socialist than Denmark. Socialism does not mean more welfare state.

Those are totalitarian dictatorships, genius.

If libertarianism means high levels of union membership, strong employment protections, heavy social spending, relatively progressive taxes, strong government regulation of industry (eg, environmental policy), a short work week, etc., then I guess I’m a libertarian!
