What are the best crim jobs to be had this year?

Tough one.
Nope, not even close.
FSU is ground zero for the biggest scandal the field has seen in years. The senior faculty in that department, along with the dean and the FSU administration, failed to hold an established research fraud perpetrator accountable.
Would you want to drop in the middle of an obvious faculty civil war, knowing they had the choice to do the right thing and they weren't interested? Would you want to answer questions about your own standards and professionalism at ASC, or when you look for your next job?
Yeah, FSU has extremely tainted itself, and that affects everyone on the faculty. They completely wht-washed a fra/ud that is far worse than Goffman. Who would want to be involved with such a dept at all?

The ES scandal mismanagement has left TB a lame duck that has lost the respect of the discipline and for the good of FSU should step down...

GSU is the best job in my book. That department has made huge strides. I like the qualitative people there; Topalli, Jacques, Wright. They had the guts to hire Burt. They have some of the best junior faculty in the field, Oullet, Chen. Richard Wright is the chair. One of the nicest scholars around. I met him at ASC years ago. Would love to work for someone like him….I.e., a human.

Someone at GSU -- cr_ap university, large community college of he south --- spends a lot of time on this site trying to create a halo around the CJ program. Aint' workin. I suspect Jacques is the person who does this.

I too think GSU gets too much love in this site and I frequently state such. But Jacques hates the department so why would he pump it up? It’s more likely to be a qualitative grad student. Maybe CB? Maybe VT?

They've been several places where they were one-and-done: Northeastern, John Jay, VCU, Maryland, FSU. Easier to list the places they lasted more than one year.
