Tim Gill's fig/ht with Phil Magness defending Kevin Kruse's plag/ia/rism really shows that he isn't as smart as he is given credit for on this site. Magness destroyed him.
Tim Gill made fool of himself

Sarcasm in defense of a pla/gia/rist is idi/oti/c. It shows Gill really isn’t that smart. What kind of serious professor thinks using sarcasm in defense of pla/gia/rism is a bright idea? Also, he didn’t even try to address the allegations specifically. He just tried to bring down Magness, but Magness chewed him up. Gill is a lightweight.
Are you sure he wasnt being sarcastic?

I wouldn’t be surprised by that at all. His shtick isn’t even that clever, and it is done waaay better by others. For example, the Associate Deans account on Twitter.

The rumor is that Tim Gill makes all the posts on this site praising himself. -
You don’t have to be a hysterical anti-woke to understand that pla/gia/rism is disgraceful and that pla/gia/rists are unworthy of defending—even if you agree with the plagiarist’s politics and they happen to work at an Ivy League institution. Gill looked like a complete i/di/ot deciding to defend Kevin Kruse and trying to take down Phil Magness without ever addressing the actual allegations. Magness squashed him like an annoying bug in the summer.
lol, stop throwing a fit over gill not being a hysterical anti-woke. youre not going to run the road.

Phil engages in lots of low-brow low-effort trooling wherein he describes it as somehow "hilarious" that leftists describe Democrats as "neoliberals" which he thinks doesn't make sense because he can't comprehend how the meaning of the word "neoliberal" has shifted during 40 years. Phil spends all day watching MSNBC and went on a rage campaign against Jacobin earlier this year (which he had never heard of before) for attacking corporate neoliberal identitarianism as the tendency dominating the Democrats.

Weird that Phil would come and advocate for a jacobin writer then. Then again, Phil is like 90% of sjmr users according to 9C3C
I think you're somehow reversing what was being argued?
Why are you saying Phil would be "90% of sjmr users"?Phil declared war against Jacobin earlier this year on twitter, it was bsically his attempt to seem relevant after his wars against Pew and AMLO flopped, but nobody paid attention.
What I'm confused about is why TG would be defending 1619 Project when it's regarded as a joke by serious leftist historians. The fact that he would be trying to burnish his own credibility by pointing out he was published in Jacobin during the same tweet is just... strange. Jacobin is one of the major publications that has spoken clearly against the 1619 Project as bad and unscholarly history:
https://twitter.com/jacobin/status/1477580428274020355It seems like TG was outcast by the woke Karens and regarded as a pariah for mocking them, and now he's overcompensating by trying to seem "woke" through defending 1619 Project? Am I misinterpreting something?
