fwiw, I was shocked to look at the US statistics and see there are still officially around 500 Covid deaths per day happening.
By contrast, the Netherlands has recorded exactly ZERO total Covid deaths during the entire first five weeks of 2023 (per Johns Hopkins University). Keep in mind this is peak season for respiratory illness -- in the Netherlands, there is no Covid pandemic at all now.
Weirdly, these same people still masking in the US also tend to worship Joe Biden as "America's greatest president in history." Even though if they believe in these numbers, it would necessarily indicate Biden is far worse than Trump, or literally worse than every single other national leader in the entire world, at managing the pandemic in public health terms, and so their Biden worship just doesn't make sense.
The US figure is perplexing and I'm having difficulty accepting it at face value and assume there must be some truly vast difference between these two countries in methodology?

Note that during these five weeks that the Netherlands has recorded ZERO Covid deaths, the US has somehow recorded almost as many such deaths as the Netherlands during the entire pandemic (which is approximately 23,000).
The US population is approximately 20 times that of the Netherlands, but that does not even come near accounting for this extreme and inexplicable discrepancy. -
