^ If you look at household where the adults have an average age of between 20 and 40, student loan debt is approximately $31,000. The average payment is $276, or 7 percent of income. This is in the ballpark of what the average household spends on entertainment ($210), dining out ($222), and healthcare ($307), and much less than housing ($1452) and transportation ($762).
The students with the highest debt burdens are graduate students. What do they look like? The average household with debt where one member has a graduate degree has nearly $60k in debt, but they bring in more than $100,000 on average.

^Cool story, bro. You're totally right. Student loan debt is not a problem whatsoever.
Meanwhile, SP is cranking away at these burning issues:

Meanwhile, SP is cranking away at these burning issues:
"Mapping Microaggressions on a Southern University Campus: Where Are the Safe Spaces for Vulnerable Students?" (Dec 2019)Social problems are socially constructed. For the people editing, publishing in, reviewing for, and reading SP, so-called micro-aggressions are a huge social problem.

My recent experience with SP was actually a good one. Short turnaround time, useful and actionable reviews, and some helpful directives from the handling editor. Goes to show how random the whole affair can be.

Read Akers and Chingos, Game of Loans. Not your reviewer, but the data suggest that reviewer was right..This seems like a weird way to slice and dice the data. Why take an average age between 20 and 40?
Also, what about HHs that have more than one person paying back loans? You seemed to have used HH income but individual level loan data.

My 2019 experience was solid. Granted, I got a rejection, but some of the comments I received were some of the most insightful ones I've received thus far in my short time as an academic. I've become much more endeared to Social Problems than Social Forces (Social Forces, from my experience, can be very rude and unhelpful).

$30K is peanuts. Its a new car. Ride the bus or bike to work, keep an old beater car for shopping trips, and youre golden.I agree 30k in debt with a 15 year repayment period should be manageable for more people.
However, the problem is the strange way that the post above presented that number. Recall that, according to the post, 31k is the average student loan debt for a household that has an average age of between 20 and 40. I guess this was calculated by adding up the ages of all the adults in the household and averaging them? So an 18 year old high school senior living with her 50 year old mom would fall into this group?
This number is perhaps unintentionally deceptive.
I left undergrad at 22 with 62k in debt. I am in my mid-30s and have it down to about 10k. This will be paid off by the time I am 36 or 37. So the last few years of my 30s I will have 0 student loan debt. If you take my student loan debt per year from 20-40 and calculate a
