Confession: I love finding out about who got flyouts and where. And I love reading about who got job offers. When I was on the job market I ate that stuff up on the daily. It's one of the weird reasons I keep coming back here even though I have a job I like. I find it motivating.
But I think we started a helpful practice last year that I feel would be good to keep movin forward. When we find out about flyouts and list names on the wiki, we only list ABDs and postdocs. Don't list APs. You could potentially hurt their standing in their department. Everyone else is fair game as far as flyouts go. And when APs actually take a job somewhere else, then you get to name them. Agreed?
