Obama Said He Would Speak Up To Stop Bernie Sanders Nomination: Report
-
"Not being so harsh on Obama" isn't the issue either. You think he should be hated and thought of as actual cancer. That's completely bats**t. Plenty of Democrats and progressives disagree with parts - even large parts - of his record without labeling him in this way.
-
"Providing health care for all" IS the moderate position. Government single payer is NOT. Every single Democrat in the primary argues that every person in America should be insured. You just disagree with the means they plan to do it by, and so decide they should be hated -- rabidly. It's almost too absurd to be real.

This s**t is why the "BernieBro" epithet exists in the first place

I’m not a Russian troll. I’m obviously just an “annoying” leftist. I’m not the one calling everyone else a lib. I did say “scr3w Obama”, which is by far the most divisive thing I’ve said. Apologies. To put it more kindly, I’m tired of the neoliberal party. Obama deepened and did not try to push it left. I obviously am with the Warren and Bernie wing. Of course Obama isn’t the “worst person in the world.” I never said he is a “cancer.”
The Politico article clearly states that he will come out against Bernie if the latter has a chance. And he’s opposed to warren.
Obama has been wishy washy or opposed to single payer for a long time - look at PolitiFact link above.
-
Im asking those defending Obama to give *reasons* for their defense. It seems to me that hes creating obstacles to a more progressive party. And the only reply is calling me names and then calling me the divisive one.
Pretty sure this is the first time you actually asked for "reasons." Previously you've done little more than question people's intelligence, implicitly and explicitly.

Neither need defended because neither is true. The former is based on hearsay that is rather inconsistent with Obama's profound respect for democracy.
The latter is also false:

He endorsed Medicare for all last year. Called it a winning policy. He seems to believe though that simply replacing the current system with single payer isn't viable; I would guess that he's more supportive of a "phasing in/out" period. -
Thank you.

Don’t be so sure:

I wouldn’t be surprised at all if Bernie’s numbers jumped for whatever reason. Unlikely. What is clear is that Obama is against the move left.

He seems to believe though that simply replacing the current system with single payer isn't viable; I would guess that he's more supportive of a "phasing in/out" period. He said he supported it in 2003 and again recently, but opposed it when he had a chance to actually fight for it. That bothers me, but I hope he maintains support. We’ll see.
-
The political climate when he "had a chance to fight for it" wouldn't even allow him to get a public option through his own party. Single payer wasn't workable at the time. Frankly, it's significantly more viable and more popular now in part due to his endorsement of Medicare for all.
I'll read the huffpost piece before responding to that bit.
-
Eh, the huffpost tells us he's against moving too far to the left but I think that ties more into his opposition to "blowing the system up" than anything. Info like that is why I think he's more on the side of phasing out private insurance a bit more slowly. It doesn't suggest to me at all that he'd interfere if the primary doesn't go the way he wants. That's more something Trump would do, and I think Obama is very invested in his legacy, which will be in large part defined by his contrast with Trump.

If you're on the left and support a candidate who isn't Sanders, think about the Sanders supporters you actually know.
Not the stereotypes of Bernie Bros, I mean the friends, acquaintances, and family members who actually support Bernie.
I'm willing to bet they're entirely disimilar from parodies of deliberatively and singularly focused divisive supposed Sanders supporters trolling in this thread.
Don't believe it. I'm not voting for Sanders but these are not real people.

Don't believe it. I'm not voting for Sanders but these are not real people. And if you don't vote for Bernie because RobDaHeartThrob4206.9 said something stupid on reddit and your opposition is based on that rather than his substantive policies, you've got nothing going on up there.
