I understood him a lot better when I realized his natural state was being a jerk and that he could only hold it in for short periods of time.
I think in short stints I would prefer to hang out with Massey over Christakis because Massey can avoid being a jerk for 30 minutes, but over the long haul I think I'd become numb to Christakis's raging ego.
