I just looked at Volume 20, published in 1990. Yikes...

It's amazing how accepted child molestation was among gay academics at that historical time. I know that people keep trying to pretend that support for child molestation among the gay rights movement was "fringe," and that's probably true when we're looking at random gay people, yet regarding gay rights activist leaders and gay academics it seems like support for molestation was entirely mainstream and accepted.
This really provides important context on understanding the gay rights movement as a hegemonic institution exercising political power over children's bodies. Look into how Har/ry Hay helped NAMBLA go "subversive" with its political agenda through rebranding (some of that happening secretly regarding how NAMBLA's explicit sex ed agenda now being mainstream in blue school districts). If you want to know why the Democrats are so focused on using hegemonic control over popular media and public education for child grooming, this is it. Disney is now literally selling children's toys with rainbow flags on them.

Some of the proxy voting in this thread looks insane. Someone is really, really upset that this issue was dragged out of the closet.

Obviously the subject of pedophilia should be studied, but saying it should be advocated is obviously neither scholarly nor ethically appropriate.

The ILGA was openly issuing statements supporting pedophilia (sometimes by unanimous internal votes) well into the 1990s.

Early gay rights leaders were pretty open about the relationship between child molestation and homosexual orientation, and only stopped talking about it in the 1990s as strategy to "mainstream" the gay rights movement as a hegemonic institution. Why not actually look at statistical data showing cor/relation between homosexuality as an "identity" and having been molested as a child?

I think all of the figures I listed are still celebrated by the gay rights movement. Why do you think they would they openly support pro-pedophilia activists, if this issue had been abandoned as agenda rather than simply hidden as agenda?

Increasingly, the sole focus of the "gay rights movement" in the United States seems to be targeting children. Children are increasingly being trained in middle school and elementary school in blue districts on how to have @/n/@/l and 0/r/@/l s/e/x. The world's worst corporations are openly marketing homosexuality to very young children, even telling very young children to attend gay pride parades (which often involve inappropriate behavior, displays of sexuality, and nudity). Nickelodeon and Disney have gone full-on p/3/d/0. Remember when Joe Camel was used to try to make tobacco seem cool to kids, now we have cartoon characters from Disney and Nickelodeon marketing @/n/@/l s/e/x to young children. Weird that now they're openly acting out all the worst stereotypes that were always applied to gay people regarding targeting children for "recruitment."

The overwhelming majority of gay people are not activists who target children and could care less about "gay activism" (plenty of gay people are even political conservatives), except to the extent that it would affect their personal private lives. The gay "activist leadership" like Hay, Thorstad, Bressan, Rivera have always by contrast insisted that pedophilia is central to gay liberation.

It's actually really difficult to find any documented gay activist leader before around 1990 who was not openly supportive of pedophilia. Were there any? Before around 1980, there was not even any strong conceptual separation between pedophilia and homosexuality among gay rights activists.

Beth Kelly, professor at DePaul and founder of one of the first LGBT studies programs in the US, is openly supportive of pedophilia (she writes about how being molested by her aunt is what caused her to become a l/3/s/bian).
In 2010, Beth Kelly was named head of Chicago's LGBT Advisory Council by Mayor Daley.
