   According to Freese she contacted all of her participants re: this. (As I recall he said he didn't receive the letter but people he know did, and he seemed to find it to be pretty obvious and reasonable that she didn't send it to him).

   i'll be the first to admit there's a lot of bad sociology being done, and that a lot of the loudest voices in the discipline are the most embarrassing, but is it par for the course in other disciplines to eat their own like sociology. i'm migrated to criminology/criminal justice but it's generally a lot friendlier over here. N of 1 and all..

    b67e, I agree about the loud, embarrassing voices in sociology. I agree that it seems like we eat each other alive. BUT if you are basing your impressions exclusively (or primarily) from this site, you are misled. This place is obviously not representative.
