Or is there something even worse?
Is sociology the most anti-intellectual discipline today?

i know a lot of economists who are far st up id er than the sociologists i know. psychologists too. i am not sure twitter/social media is an accurate representation of the modal sociologist. quite likely the opposite in fact.
in the bowels of Christ! anti-intellectual does not mean unintelligent.

Are ASA conferences an accurate representation? If so, they're just like twitter sociology.I don't think ASA confrences are representative. I was never in ASA, and ASA membership is in steep decline.
I generally agree that about 65% of sociology is c/rap vs. 35% good, but I imagine you'd fine roughly the same ratio for most social science disciplines (certainly is the case in crim and psych).

I would honestly say less than 2% of what is published in sociology is of any value. Most is simply salami slicing to meet promotional quotas.
