Huawei built tools to identify and monitor people by ethnicity

I think this is the logical outcome of all of the "algorithmic bias" complaining. Your facial recognition software doesn't work well on nonwhyte people? Injurious and oppressive! Add more of them to the training set so we can surveil them because that is less injurious and oppressive!

How exactly do sociologists believe this would work if racial differences are 'socially constructed'?
AI is trained to identify the socially constructed categories, obviously. If AI is capable of sorting by ethnicity, wouldn't this imply the biological variation that determines ethnic differences can be coherently organized?

Any well-educated person understands this. You should maybe take an intro Soc course. It would make you a better tr00l.
Uighurs are ethnically very distinctive (the only ethnic group that's very closely related are the Hazara in Afghanistan). As an ethnic group, Uighurs tangibly and coherently exist as a biological category. If they couldn't be coherently identified, biologically, the AI identifying them would not work. But let me guess, you're the same person who was trying to argue that grey wolf and coyote are social constructs rather than coherent biological categories?

It’s really sad how your education has failed you.

A sociologist should actually explain in their own words what they mean when they say that an ethnic group that can be objectively biologically differentiated, even from nearby ethnic groups, per allelic frequencies at particular genetic loci is "socially constructed."

You're an American sociologist. Your vocabulary is gibberish. You are the laughingstock of academia and society at large. No one considers your discipline to be a social science anymore.

Bro. You don’t know how AI works. Humans train computers to think like humans. You don’t need “biological” anything to train a computer to classify something. This line of argument is based on pure ignorance of the method.

Not a bro.
I'm pretty sure I understand the subject better than you do.
You can't train AI to "see" a physical category that doesn't exist as a physical category.
