Anyone have experiences with minimizing payments of student loans under Public Service Loan Forgivement Programs?
In particular, I'm wondering whether my partner and I should file taxes separately for the purpose of minimizing the take-home income that is the basis of the minimum payment calculation
Talk to an accountant. It'll be worth the money.
It all depends on your total household income as it is now and as you expect it to change over the years.

It really depends on your numbers. Run them both way - filing individually or jointly and see what works better. My spouse and I file separately.
^Do you have any details on what the numbers look like for the respective approaches?
Also, forgot to mention, there are certain credits you can't take advantage of if you file as single.
