He knows that he was never making full prof at UCLA with those s/ham/el/ess audit studies that he passes off as impor/tant papers. He should never have been tenured at UCLA to begin with. He's running to a non-profit and hi/ding his ta/il. What a fr/a/ud.

He's not bluffing. He emailed some colleagues and students last week to say goodbye. Sounds like he's going to have an easier job in a more affordable city where he already has friends and family. I believe he got a large salary increase too. This seems like a great move.

Others definitely unhappy and looking around. UCLA compensation at the junior/young senior level is not good enough for the COL in the area. People clowned SMG for complaining, but he wasn't wrong. The gap between what seniors make and juniors is huge and the seniors got to buy their properties decades ago before this housing gold rush.

UCLA lost two young tenured people in two years. And it seems like others are unhappy too. What is going on there?
