Now they say so.
FBI finds little evidence Jan 6 Capitol storming was result of organized plot
-
^bc it was instigated--and then commended--by a sitting President! that truly is remarkable.
Is it in terms of death and harm done very significant? of course not. Any number of drone attacks, covert CIA stuff etc has done FAR worse. But in terms of brazen flouting of institutional norms, it is truly unprecedented. It does indeed deserve a marker in US history.

Read the indictments, genius. Its all spelled out.
The FBI totally backed off the absurd claims like that members of Congress were targeted for violence. There was obviously no way the government was going to be "overthrown" by distrupting a legislative proceeding (a tactic Democrats have used often in recent years), and nothing in the indictments says otherwise. And if there was no organized plot at all then it can't plausibly be considered anyone's "coup attempt."

Honestly, 1/6/2021 was not that big of a deal. I don't like Trump, Biden won, and it was an act of te_r_rorism, at least technically speaking. But people need to stop treating it like a 9/11 level event.
You’re pointing out that you’re honest on a message board?

There are people on video in the Capitol threatening members of Congress.
And, odds of success aren't a major factor.
It's still a crime iff someone tries to merder you and fails.

The FBI already acknowledged that claims some demonstrators planned to assassinate members of Congress were false:
https://reut.rs/3sCFwAvAlso, regarding the guy who said "read the indictments," it's clear he himself never did that. None of the indictments are for sedition, which is the charge that would be filed for attempts to overthrow the government. No indictments indicate any plot or attempt to "overthrow the government" and no one has even indictated how disrupting and delaying a legislative session would accomplish an overthrow. Most of the charges so far involve things like trespassing, demonstrating without a permit, disrupting a legislative procedure, disorderly conduct, or assaults against police officers.
Below link lists all charges filed so far against Jan. 6 demonstrators -- I see nothing pertaining to sedition or to "attempting to overthrow the government."

despite the 'hang mike pence' chants and the fake gallows, and the zip tie toting GIjoe dorks playing at mission impossible, we all know it was a half-as/sed, hodge-podge of rag-tags, has-beens and never-wases. calling it a coup or an insurection is too generous. it was a riot, and a pretty lame one at that. that people di/ed, were injured, or committed s/u/i/c/i/d/e as a result of it is rather sad.

And detailing the organization of the plots. You seem p0/0rly informed.
