What do I do? When do I start applying for non academic jobs

Keep in mind that more academic jobs will appear in the spring semester. However, it doesn’t hurt to have a backup plan. I would see if I could get additional training in skills that are highly desired in alt-ac settings over the next few months and start looking for those kinds of positions between March-May.

depends on your position. i assume you have funding until this summer if you are an academic. so applying to the handful of academic jobs remaining but start applying heavily to alt ac jobs in march or so

Like right now? There isn't much seasonality for non academic jobs
