Lol you people literally troIIed her out of academia.
Eryn O'Neal has left academia. Not joking.

Now all the tweets about her experiencing PTSD from checking her email and not being able to sleep make a bit more sense. She must've had some serious problems there, whatever they were.
I would normally say good luck, hope you land on your feet, but this woman is toxic waste and should be blacklisted.

I would normally say good luck, hope you land on your feet, but this woman is toxic waste and should be blacklisted. This actually makes a lot of sense. She invited students over pre-vaccine and one of them made a TikTok about how she has t/i/t/t/i/e/s everywhere in her house. That student is also TikTok famous apparently. Then Eryn made a TikTok defending it.
Thats a walking Title IX suit right there. There was probably some investigation which led to her getting prescribed a bunch of medications. And I'm guessing the result of it all was to resign voluntarily or get canned.

If her evals were solid and she had the pubs she likely would've been tenured.
My guess is either department admin or admin higher-ups tried to get her to tone down her social media nonsense, possibly repeatedly, she viewed as them trying to cramp her style and not let her "be herself", and decided to leave.
We will likely never know. But it must be nice to be financially situated in such a way as to be able to leave a job without anything else lined up. I'd rag on her for this but don't recall her ever virtue-signaling as "first-gen" or underprivileged or whatever so ..

This is normally true, but if you're denied tenure you get the one year paid courtesy year following denial so you can go back on the job market comfortably
But it must be nice to be financially situated in such a way as to be able to leave a job without anything else lined up.
Doubt she left voluntarily. Better to resign than be fired. -

Fair enough. Nothing I've seen suggests she knew a year ago she wouldn't be renewed, but maybe she did and just kept quiet about it. Doesn't seem like it fits with her overshary histrionic personality type but I doubt we will ever get the real story here.

I don’t know her but have been reading the posts about her here. It’s clear the person posting on the board is from her department. That’s really sad. Academia is a brutal place where people enjoy watching others fail. She was clearly struggling with mental health issues and no one helped her? I hope she will be OK. Not sure how some people posting on this thread sleep at night.

Sounds like admin basically told her you're clearly not well, your social media behavior has opened us up to lawsuits, so do not come back next year or at any point thereafter, and we'll give you a paid year plus benefits.
It was definitely a hard decision to make

what evidence is there that the troll is from her dept? her twitter is public. honestly curious
