^ clearly has never read a paper that operationalizes cognition. there's a massive interdisciplinary effort in the area, but you can continue to think it's utterly worthless. it's fogeys like you that inhibit sociology from joining broader conversations (i.e. the judgment and decision-making sciences) and thereby achieving greater relevance

One way to find new people who are working in a subfield or on a specific topic is to look up a foundational article on google scholar then click cited by and sort by date. The newest articles often have the most up-to-date reviews of the literature in that subfield.
