Now, we have so many statuses (race, neurodiversity, gender, blah blah). I had a colleague who is both black and "neurodiverse" demand that the whole department move to online only teaching and meetings to accommodate HER. This is not fooling anyone. People with real diagnoses figured out they can play that card and are using it to warp the institution into what suits them. These people are liars and charlatans. I was the most "progressive" member of my department at one time, but I am done with this stuff.
DEI used as a weapon

I’ve heard of people talk about their coming out as disabled—for their anxiety and/or depression! Those things are no fun, no doubt, and make it harder to do one’s work. They are also a part of the human experience. At its worst this stuff rewards histrionic, non resilient behavior.
