Which one is better to study my Ph.D?
CUNY, higher ranking, good location but not close cohort and professor not supportive ?
Albany, solid training, supportive, but pretty boring place? also lower ranking.
My usual advice is to go look at the recent graduates, their topics, and their advisors. Then see if there is a person in your desired area who guides people through the program.
It's hard to tell before you start, but you shuld also ask yourself if you see yourself doing an offshoot of someone else's project, or if you're more interested in starting your own project.
