African Americans in a collective sense haven't worked productively since slavery. They won't work productively unless extreme measures force them to. I'm not saying whether that would be moral. America is still morally paying for slavery, because the former slaves are now basically a parasite intent on bringing the entire society down.
Actually, the world would indeed be a better place if most black academics (who are really just the corporate woke-cult plantation and display themselves as such daily on twitter, openly in public) just stay at home "do nothing and think" instead of teaching classes. I think most reasonable people would agree about that.

He did not say that he didn't want to work. He said he wanted time to think, reflect, read on his subject matter. It's called a sabbatical and its reasonable. There is research to demonstrate the value of sabbaticals for productivity, creativity, and knowledge advancement. He's a scholar not a F%^*ing plumber.
