Nobody will KNOW if Weide is being 100% honest because there's no way this woman addresses the situation. There's also a difference between burying your head in the sand and actively calling out this woman. The former is cowardly if you truly believe it to be an injustice and don't engage at all. The latter is a kamikaze mission because nothing will change and you run the risk of being slandered with some very serious career ruining allegations and have the potential of SJWs trying to get you non-tenured or e-mailing your chair or dean with you CC'd on the e-mail. This literally happened to a colleague of mine.

Potentially tanking your career and being kicked out of academia because you decided to call out a j/a/c/k/a/s/s to happens to be bIack isn't cowardice.

Look. I'm agreeing with you. She's a Melvin if she did what he said she did.
But, you think he did something admirable and got wronged. And, rather than support him you're going to bury your head in the sand. That is fine.
All this talk about "risk" etc. is just a long drawn out way for you to say you're a coward.
This is cowardice masquerading as powerlessness.
You want to complain about stuff that's wrong, not do anything about it, and make excuses.
Then you keep complaining that nothing can be done, and blame everything other than you.
People around the world are going to jail and getting k/i/l/l/e/d for standing up for their beliefs, but you're scared that some academics are going to say mean things that might stop you from having a cushy job.
They have a good reason to be scared if they're not tenured. This lady showed she has no problem snitching on someone for the crime of critiquing her work and making it about race. If she's willing to do that, what makes you think her and her friends wouldn't write outside letters accusing a person who posts on social about it of being a r/a/c/i/s/t, of being a s/e/x/u/a/l predator, etc. when they're up for tenure? Admin are even bigger p/u/s/s/i/e/s and won't tenure someone with any of those allegations no matter how much merit they lack.
It's called risk/rewards, d/u/m/b/a/s/s. The rewards are at best four people like your tweet and this woman does nothing different. This is exactly what I've been saying. I don't even know why you're arguing with me. You agree that it's cowardly to not stand up for him if you think he's been wronged. If you're quiet to save your job it's still cowardly.

In fact almost every job talk I’ve ever sat in on I’ve asked a question about the lack of literature being cited in a relevant field if I’m familiar with the concept, regardless of the persons race. You’re cowardice premise is pretty weak.
