ASA Employment Fair Interview Dress Code

Got job, just wore jeans and a sweater to my interviews. Don't worry about the endless "how wide should my lapels be" nonsense on the rumors sites - job market is stressful enough without trying to micromanage insignificant things. Wear something clean and spend your actual energy preparing for questions.

Sure, don't fret the lapel width level of detail too much, but wear a professional looking suit. It will help you make a better impression.

Suits at the career fair at ASA in August? I was thinking of wearing normal conference attire, so sharp but not to the 9s
This is about it. Conferences are basically 4-day long, informal job interviews where you can get high in smoking areas and drunk at night. If you don't dress like a schlub at the conference, you should be fine in normal conference attire. However, if you think you present a better version of your professional self in more professional attire, you should do this. Like everything else, the bar is lower for us white dudes, but the general theme still applies.
