But, I have followed the coverage, and I will point out two things.
BYU investigated and took action. If there was no incident then that would mean that the university was supporting a false accusation against its institution, an accusation that makes the university look bad. Why would they do that?
Also, if you've attended college sports events and talked about the topic to friends from different colleges you'll know that black athletes being called racial slurs is something that happens.
Also, there are usually a handful of high school incidents that make the news each year.
