It's undeniable. The cohorts that have been on the market recently went through Princeton amidst major retirements and departures. Lots of students went practically unadvised. Things are probably looking up with all the new hires, but the recent lack of placements is a direct consequence of earlier faculty turnover and neglect.

It's almost like you can't really afford to keep bleeding away your younger and older stars every few years. Too many losses to recover from. Any time soon at least.

MANY, if not most jobs are NOT on this list. This is biased toward the top grad programs and R1 and elite SLAC jobs. People don’t like to be named out of fear of trolling.
