Various NYU people also gave job talks at Michigan, UCLA (x2), Colorado, and other places - not entirely sure how they went though.
Both NYU talks at UCLA were mediocre. The mystery AP blew them out of the water.
That's true 95% of the time. Perk of having more time to develop research.
Grad students have plenty of time to develop research. Often, full time.
Usually, compared to APs, they just don't know how to present and their social/people skills blow. APs also tend to do a better job tying things to "broader research"
